Hourly rate £12.71p/h

We are continuing to develop and grow our services and are looking for a Relief Specialist Deaf Complex Needs Support Worker to provide ad-hoc cover to support Deaf individuals with complex needs.

Hours: To be discussed at interview

Office base: Sandwell Deaf Community Association, West Bromwich, West Midlands

Purpose of the role

To provide support in the home and local community, enabling the individual to learn and make decisions about their life and future choices.

Essential:

• Experience and understanding of Deaf people with additional and complex needs.
• Level 2 Certificate in British Sign Language (BSL), or equivalent (including native/near-native BSL skills).
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Willingness to undertake further study to develop BSL skills and complete any job-specific training.
• Responsibility for safeguarding adults at risk.
• Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are upheld at all times, in line with organisational and local safeguarding procedures.
• Demonstrated experience working safely and effectively with adults at risk.

Desirable:

• Certificate in Social Care
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care
