Job Description
We’re looking for a proactive and inspiring Senior Employment Adviser to lead our team in delivering high-quality supported employment across the Connect to Work programme. This is an exciting opportunity to combine leadership, quality assurance and operational excellence – supporting advisers, driving performance, and ensuring fidelity to IPS/SEQF models. Required Skills
Essential
- Demonstrates highly effective communication skills that meet the key stakeholders’ individual needs and learning styles.
- Able to effectively deliver multiple projects and service delivery.
- IT literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office Applications and other Action Deafness’ bespoke systems.
- Experience delivering Supported Employment, IPS, SEQF or similar employment programmes.
- Experience supervising or leading staff.
- Strong understanding of employer engagement, job coaching and vocational profiling.
- High standard of written and digital recording skills.
- Ability to analyse performance data and implement improvements.
- Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and professional boundaries.
Desirable
- Experience in disability employment or working with people with complex needs.
- Experience delivering staff training, coaching or quality assurance.
Required Qualifications
- An acceptable Enhanced DBS with Adult Barred List check.
- Safeguarding and Prevent training (renewed every 3 years + annual refresher preferred).
- Participation in Step2Skills induction, Best Practice Days and required CPD.
Additional Information
- Car owner/driver (essential) – expenses reimbursed in line with AD expenses policy. Travel within Hertfordshire and surrounding areas may be required.
- Personal circumstances must allow the candidate to work extended hours on occasions during times of peak activity including international trips, evenings and weekends.

The Connect to Work scheme is a government-funded initiative designed to support individuals who face barriers to employment, helping them develop skills, build confidence, and secure sustainable work. As part of this programme, Action Deafness has successfully secured a five-year contract to deliver tailored employment support across Hertfordshire.
Working in partnership with Step2Skills (part of Hertfordshire Futures), Action Deafness will focus on supporting Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing individuals to access meaningful employment opportunities. The programme aims to address the unique challenges faced by these communities by providing specialist, person-centred support that enhances employability, promotes independence, and connects individuals with inclusive employers across the region.
