Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced and initiative-taking Finance Manager to lead and further develop our finance function. This role requires a strong technical accounting background, combined with the ability to work collaboratively across departments to support the financial health and continued growth of the business. The Finance Manager will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong financial controls, and support the organisation through financial analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Administration, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the finance function and ensuring finance integrates effectively with sales and operations across the organisation.
As a growing and dynamic company, we are looking for a knowledgeable and capable candidate who can manage the day-to-day running of the finance function, hit the ground running, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Hours/Contract: 37.5 hours per week/Full Time/Permanent
Report to: Director of Finance & Administration
Salary: £40,000.00 – £45,000.00
Job Start: ASAP

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Manage high-volume customer invoicing and credit control, monitoring aged debt and ensuring compliance with company policy.
- Manage multiple bank accounts, including daily high-volume bank receipt processing.
- Process multi-currency transactions and perform inter-company reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and provide actionable financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC reporting requirements and VAT returns.
- Maintain strong internal controls, financial compliance, and support external audits as required.
- Drive process improvements, best practices, and operational efficiency across the finance function.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, promoting collaboration with sales, operations, and other business areas.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
- Strong technical expertise in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and statutory compliance.
- Proven experience managing accounts receivable/payable, credit control, bank reconciliations, and multi-currency environments.
- Experience preparing management accounts and delivering meaningful financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Strong understanding of UK regulatory requirements, including VAT and HMRC reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience developing and mentoring teams.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and process optimisation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g. QuickBooks or similar ERP systems).
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

- Fluency in BSL British Sign Language is advantageous.
Experience/Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or part-qualified preferred).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance role with responsibility for month-end, reporting, and operational finance processes.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a team.
