Band 3 Healthcare Assistant – Bluebell Ward
About the Job
- Support patients every day:
- Personal care (washing, dressing)
- Help with meals
- Check physical health (blood pressure, blood sugar)
- Escort patients to appointments or activities
- Work in a Deaf-friendly team
- Give feedback to nurses
- Learn British Sign Language (BSL) – training provided
- Work with Deaf patients (age 18+) with mental health conditions: Schizophrenia, Depression, Bipolar, Personality Disorder
- Also work with patients with autism, learning disabilities, sensory loss (Deafblindness, Usher Syndrome)

Skills Needed
- Good communication

Shift Patterns
- Early: 07:00–13:00
- Late: 13:00–21:00
- Long Day: 07:00–20:30
- Night: 20:30–07:30
- 6 shift requests per month for flexibility
About Bluebell Ward
- 25 staff in the team (nurses, doctors, therapists)
- Many staff and all patients are Deaf
- BSL interpreters available every day (07:00–21:00)
- Location: Springfield Hospital, Tooting (near Northern Line)
