Senior Specialist Community Worker

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Community Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community work and possess British Sign Language (BSL) skills to effectively communicate with our diverse community members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1-1 support to community members.
• Manage staff rota and ensure adequate coverage.
• Supervise and support team members.
• Liaise with Warrington Disability Partnership on HR issues.
• Develop and implement community programmes and initiatives.
• Facilitate communication and engagement with individuals who use British Sign Language.
• Collaborate with local organisations and stakeholders to enhance community services.
• Conduct outreach and build relationships within the community.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of community activities.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in community work or a related field.
• Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Passion for supporting and empowering community members.
• Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
• Ability to drive and own a car.
