BSL Tutor Job advertisement

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated British Sign Language (BSL) Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold at least a Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language and possess either a teaching qualification or relevant teaching experience.

This role involves delivering high-quality BSL instruction to a diverse range of students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and some areas in London.

Key responsibilities –

• Deliver engaging and comprehensive BSL lessons to students of various ages and abilities
• Design and implement lesson plans that reflect the needs and interests of individual learners
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation
• Stay informed about the latest developments in BSL teaching methods and resources
• Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the overall educational experience
• Engage in professional development to continuously refine your teaching practice

Requirements –

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language
• Teaching qualification or relevant teaching experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to foster a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere
• Passionate about teaching and promoting the use of BSL
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Public liability insurance with a minimum of £2 million cover

This is a freelance position. Working hours are flexible and may include evenings and weekends, depending on the schedule of classes and events. A competitive hourly rate is offered and will reflect your experience and qualifications.
