About Remark! Access

Remark! Access specialises in creating high-quality accessible content for Deaf, hard of hearing and visually impaired audiences across a wide range of platforms.

Our services include British Sign Language (BSL) translation, subtitling, audio description, audio reading and transcription.

Our professional studio is based at our Leather Lane offices in Central London and includes a full green screen set-up, professional lighting and camera equipment.

Due to the continued growth of Remark! Access and an increase in exciting new projects, we are expanding our team and looking for a Content Editor to join us.

We are looking for an Access Video Editor to join our team, with a particular focus on editing BSL translated content and working closely with our translators to produce high-quality accessible videos.

You will work across a variety of exciting projects, from short-form digital content through to larger and longer-form productions.

Our clients include organisations such as the British Museum, Department of Health, Macmillan Cancer Support and London Transport Museum.

Key responsibilities:

  • Edit high-quality BSL and accessible video content.
  • Work closely with BSL translators throughout the production and editing process.
  • Edit and chroma key footage captured in our studio.
  • Maintain a consistently high standard of quality and attention to detail.
  • Prepare and export video content in the required format.
  • Carry out amendments following translator, monitor and client feedback.
  • Take ownership of projects and work to agreed deadlines.
  • Support filming and production in the studio.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Access team.
  • Attend and participate in relevant meeting.
  • Support other Access projects and duties where required.
  • Keep up to date with developments within accessible media and communication support for Deaf and hard of hearing people.
  • Assist in the marketing and promotion of the Remark! Access Service with a view to secure new projects.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be required within the scope of the post and participate, as necessary, in corporate initiatives and projects.

Person specification

Essential

  • Video editing experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop.
  • Native BSL user or a minimum of BSL Level 6.
  • Strong understanding of BSL and Deaf culture.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work closely and effectively with BSL translators.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Motivated to produce high-quality and accessible video content.

Desirable

  • Experience editing BSL or signed-language content.
  • Experience working with green screen/chroma key footage.
  • Experience editing longer-form video or film content.
  • Knowledge of different video formats and export requirements.
  • Excellent command of written English.
